I will truly miss my special Auntie. She had a spirit that would perk you up when you hear her voice. She always can tell she was smiling through the phone. !!! She could cook and she was the best cooked in Chicago. When you come to her home you know you have been welcome

How I will miss my once or twice a week phone calls with Mother Hawkins. Who will ask me about the girls each time and we talk and never forgot to ask about the doggies. Oh, how she loved to talk about Bojangles! She never did get to see him dance. We miss her dearly, our Mother Hawkins and we will always love her to the moon and the stars and sun AND back!

From the first moment we met, 40+ years ago, Mena was a part of our lives. Sunshine surrounded her as she gave of herself to one and all. God will now be the one to enjoy a wonderful, spiritual and gracious soul as we will miss her until we meet again. We love her now and always. Our deepest sympathy.

We are not related, but she always treated me like family. She was kind, honest, fair and loving to everyone. Just a beautiful person.

Cousin Meena was always open to new ideas. She never judged or criticized. When i changed my name to Rashida, she graciously called me Rashida. She was always positive and encouraging. Such a sweet spirit.

I was blessed to know this wonderful lady because of her friendship with my cousin Lilla Dean of Atlanta, GA. I appreciated her love and compassion. She will never be forgotten.

Dear Elder Dorsey,

May fond memories of your Aunt bring you comfort during this hard time in your life. Our hearts and prayers go out to you and your family as you mourn.

At this difficult time, I pray that God will grant you the serenity and peace that you need to get through this. Stay strong and know that you are remembered in our thoughts and prayers. Isaiah 41:10 reminds us, Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Today is both a sad day and joyous day. It’s sad because you will miss her but joyous because she is rejoicing with our Savior in her heavenly home.

On behalf of myself, First Lady and your fellow LifeChangers at New Life in Christ Interdenominati onal Church, please know we are with you during this time. If there is anything we can do, please don’t hesitate to ask.

May your heart and soul find peace and happiness. May the blessings of God be upon you, His peace always within your soul now and forever more.

With the utmost sincerity,
Bishop Geoffrey V. Dudley, Sr., D.Min.
Senior Pastor
