Cordell was not only an accomplished engineer and executive--he was one of the best extemporaneous speakers I've ever met. He was an inspiration to all of us who worked with him in the nuclear division. I made sure he was a featured speaker at orientation sessions for all new management hires at Edison--he was that impressive--a living symbol of things we got right.

Cordell understood the values of inclusion and diversity long before they were embraced by corporations. He single handedly did more for individuals so they could realize their full potential than any other person at ComEd. I was fortunate to be one of the people that he helped mentor. Cordell was a unique, one in a million person who left his mark in so many different ways! Rest In Peace.....you will be missed!]

Cordell Reed was a leader, an inspiration, and a gentleman. I worked for Mr. Reed at Commonwealth Edison and remember him as knowledgeable, humble, and a supervisor who valued the collective knowledge and talent of his team. Not once did he ever curse and nor did he tolerate cursing from any of his employees. When working in the field he often skipped lunch so he could interact with the workers at the plant. He had a weakness for strawberry frozen yogurt.
