Mr. Lim Lockett

Lim Lockett was born on September 7, 1935 in Shaqualak Mississippi (pronounced Sugarlock), the youngest son of Sadie and Nat Lockett

The family relocated to the North side of Chicago, IL where he continued his education and graduated from Waller High School.

He later joined and served as a Deacon at Trinity Baptist Church in the Englewood neighborhood. He was a long time member of the Prince Hall Order of Masons.

Lim was employed as a Longshoreman at several Chicago area ports. He was a 52 year member of the AFLCIO Local 19, the only African-American Longshoreman Associations in the state of Illinois.

Lim was preceded in death by his parents, brother Willie Lockett, and sister Lilly Lockett.

He is survived by his wife Latoni, son Mitchell Lockett (Shirley), daughter Lynn Shareef (Kenneth), brother George Lockett, sister Gladys Gaston, and his only beloved grandson Jordan Foster.

He also leaves a host of extended family members and friends to cherish his memory.
