Mrs. Paulette Walker

Born Into Time: January 26, 1950
Born Into Eternity: July 06, 2017

Paulette Walker was born January 26, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois, to her parents Esley Neal and Judsena Franklin. Both preceded her in death. Paulette was the only child born from this union.

Paulette made her transition in her beloved home on July 6th, 2017. Paulette loved and cherished her family and friends. She was the type of woman who always spoke from her heart and never held back from voicing her opinion. In 1973, she married the love of her life Donald S. Walker, and formed a union that would last for 44 years until the time of her death.

Paulette was endowed with an incredible love of fashion and jewelry, she defined the term “FABULOUS.” Paulette was lovingly referred to as “Polly” by family and friends. Paulette enjoyed decorating and ran a small decorative hat business in the 1980s. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and loved traveling too. Paulette was known (in her words) to “DROP SOME TRUTHS” when she felt particularly passionate about a subject. She was a very proud, strong, and educated black woman who loved her husband and children fiercely. She was an excellent cook, her signature dishes were spaghetti, stir fry, cheesecake and jello cake.

Paulette was married for 44 years to Donald S. Walker and through that union they were blessed with two children-one son Donald S. Walker II and one daughter Khaliah J. Walker. Through this union Mrs. Paulette Walker also welcomed Donald’s three children whom she loved as her own-Anthony Holloway, Shelly Donaldson, and Michael Walker.

Paulette attended and graduated from Hyde Park High School. She then went on to attend Southern Illinois University until her junior year and graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a degree in hospital administration. Paulette went on to work at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago followed by Cook County Provident Hospital where she retired as the Director of Admitting.

Throughout her life Paulette was full of energy and was loving to others. She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted husband Donald S. Walker; her loving children Donald S. Walker II, Khaliah J. Walker-Fisher, Anthony Holloway (who preceded her in death), Shelly Donaldson, and Michael Walker; her precious grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family of Paulette Walker acknowledges with grateful appreciation the many acts of kindness and sympathy shown during their hours of bereavement.
